Christmas is literally just around the corner and things are just getting a lot colder these days as we get more in to the spirit of the yuletide season. All around the world, Christmas is always celebrated and even the countries that mostly have people that don’t have religions, they still celebrate it and why not? Christmas is all about having fun and do good things to one another so with or without religion, if you have it in you to have fun and do good things, you can freely celebrate this occasion. In our house, Christmas Eve is always all about the birds… when I say bird, I mean turkey or chicken. This year, I am planning to do something different by grilling the chicken instead of broiling it. Our new gas BBQs grill that I bought in time of the holiday season should be able to do the trick, together with the patio furniture, the Easy Bottle Opener and dining room furniture that I bought online. These items have really made the dining room lively, as well as the kitchen because of the outstanding quality and designs that they have. I can say that they are perfect for the Christmas celebration, as well as using them after the holidays.
I am currently fixing up the garden in my house to make it look a little more attractive that it already is and I was thinking that putting some really nice garden accents should do the trick for me. The good thing about my situation right now is even though I don’t have an idea yet on what I would put in there; my lawn is wide and roomy so I can actually get more creative on it. This reminds me when I was looking for RV parks and camping sites before.
I just couldn’t make up my mind on where to really go. I already got a couple of gnomes in there and my wife said we should try to make it look more magical. I thought putting a vintage looking bird bath in there would create illusion of having a Mirror of Galadriel at the middle of the garden itself. I was also thinking of putting a gazebo in there but I think it could ruin the magical look that we are trying to accomplish, so I thought we’ll just go with some pergolas and try to put some vines on it. Anyway, I still need to find a good model so I should start looking now.
Rain barrels, from the sound of it, might give you the connotation that it is just a simple liquid container that are used to store alcoholic beverages or something that folks used in the old days to store water. But right now, as garden industry evolves and more and more improvements have been done, a rain barrel can actually be used for something else now and the designs that they create for such are really nice nowadays. You can use it to have plants on it, and at the same time, store some water in them to be used for other plants.
Rain water barrels can look stylish, depending on how you decide to use them and you can easily camouflage it within the plants if you decided to just use it as what it is intended to be and that is to catch rain water for the plants. This could also help conserve water because you are indeed trying to get natural sources of water and from time to time, you wouldn’t have to use the garden hose, which basically eats in to the water bills every month. With the economy and weather changes right now, you would definitely want to try conserving water.
Farming is one of the hypes in Facebook lately. I myself am an avid farmer, desperately visiting my farm from time to time, plowing lands, planting crops, harvesting and selling produce etc. I would love to do the real gardening stuff just like the old days in the country but I don’t think it’s an easy job to do if you’re living in an urban area and if you’re too busy with your work. I thought this was impossible until I visited a website about urban gardening.
I found out that a planter is a perfect solution to an apartment type, limited space and decoration to someone who wants to experience green things growing inside your home or office. I learn to love the feeling that something alive and breathing is near my work station aside from all the equipments I got. My next project would be putting up some garden planters in my roof top. Since those lovely window box planters is out of the question due to the location and feature of my unit, I guess it would still be fun and meaningful to cultivate a humble garden on the roof deck. With global warming on the rise, little plants can add something good to the environment.
